Community Partnership to Create Louisville Brand
New website seeks public input
April, 14, 2006 - (Louisville, KY) - The Greater Louisville Community Branding Project
has announced a website designed to give citizens throughout the Louisville region the
opportunity to answer the following question. What is the best way to 'brand' Louisville?
On April 14, the Greater Louisville Community Branding Project launched a public website
where everyone in the community can log on and share their opinions about what makes
Louisville unique and special. Everyone logging on to www.brandgreaterlouisville.com
will have the opportunity to give us their thoughts and impressions of the region by
answering a brief survey. The information gathered will be used as input in creating
a new brand for Louisville.
The Greater Louisville Community Branding Project, a public/private partnership initiative
of The Greater Louisville Convention and Visitors Bureau, Greater Louisville Inc., Louisville
Metro Government and the Greater Louisville Community Branding Alliance, a coalition of civic
leaders, with the goal of identifying and establishing a single Louisville brand that will
guide current and future marketing efforts for the Greater Louisville area.
While there have been numerous taglines, logos and advertising campaigns to promote Louisville
over the years, this is the first effort to consider the Louisville brand in its entirety and
embark on location branding. The Greater Louisville Branding Project, which represents the
25-county bi-state economic region of Kentucky and Southern Indiana, is a comprehensive
36-month project to develop a new brand strategy and marketing plan for Greater Louisville.
The Alliance wants everyone's opinion. For those without internet access, the Louisville Free
Public Library offers free access at its 17 branches. Simply log onto the internet and click
on www.brandgreaterlouisville.com.
Everyone who completes the online survey will have the chance to register to win great
Louisville-related prizes including local restaurant gift certificates, passes to Greater
Louisville attractions and The Galt House Hotel & Suites "Live It Up in Louisville"
Weekend Getaway Packages.
